In the realm of desserts, there's a recipe that's perfect for those who enjoy the fruits doing most of the work. We present to you an easy-to-make, light, and melt-in-your-mouth Apple Pie.

This traditional English dessert, though its exact origins are undocumented, has evolved over time, becoming a staple in many kitchens. The recipe we're about to share is simple, requiring just a handful of ingredients: 2 medium eggs, a pinch of salt, 4 tablespoons of sugar, the zest of 1 lemon, 30g of melted butter, 4 tablespoons of wheat flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, the juice of 1 lemon, and 4 apples.

To begin, preheat your oven to 180°C. In a bowl, combine the eggs, sugar, salt, lemon zest, melted butter, wheat flour, and baking powder. Mix until the mixture is smooth and lump-free.

As for the apples, they should be sliced very thinly to ensure an even bake. To prevent them from browning, sprinkle them immediately with lemon juice after slicing. The author warns that apples brown quickly, so it's essential to prepare them promptly.

Once the mixture and apples are ready, add the apples to the batter and transfer the mixture to a 20cm diameter baking dish lined with parchment paper.

Bake the apple pie for about 55 minutes at 180°C. As it bakes, the aroma of the pie fills the kitchen, surprising yet delightful. After an hour, the pie emerges from the oven, tender and slightly moist inside but holding its shape.

The apple pie is delicious both warm and at room temperature. It's especially nice to serve it with a cup of tea or a scoop of ice cream. The finished pie is light, melt-in-your-mouth, and a perfect end to any meal. So, gather your ingredients and get baking! It's a treat that's worth the time.
