Refreshed Bengaluru Bulls target to regain past success in Pro Kabaddi League Season 12

Bengaluru Bulls, the three-time Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) champions, are gearing up for the upcoming season with a fresh look and a new head coach. BC Ramesh, who was the assistant coach during the team's title-winning campaign in 2018-19, has been appointed as the new head coach.

Ramesh's appointment comes as Randhir Singh Sehrawat steps down from the position. The team's roster also sees significant changes, with a focus on nurturing young talent and addressing the lack of experienced raiders.

Among the new additions is Akash Shinde, who notched up a total of 296 raid points in 57 PKL matches. The Bulls invested INR 53.10 lakh in Shinde at the auction, indicating their faith in his abilities to assert his dominance and emerge as a key figure in the team's raiding unit. Shinde was the top raider for Puneri Paltan in Season 9 with 139 raid points.

The Bulls spent a total of INR 4.949 crore at the PKL Season 12 Player Auction and added 15 new players to their squad. Alongside Shinde, Ankush Rathee, winner of the Best Defender award in his first year, has joined the team for a base price of INR 30 lakhs.

However, the Bulls may find themselves heavily reliant on Shinde, with the pressure on their young and relatively untested raiders to step up and support the attack in their push for a top-six finish. The team's attack leaves much to be desired ahead of the season, and the lack of other well-established raiders with proven success in the league is a significant challenge.

To bolster their defense, the Bulls have added Sanjay Dhull and Dheeraj for INR 60 lakhs and INR 40.20 lac respectively. The forthcoming season will offer opportunities for rising stars such as Aashish Malik, Dheeraj, Shubham Bitake, Alireza Mirzaeian, and Ahmadreza Asgari to showcase their talents.

Yogesh Dahiya, a consistent defender in the last two PKL seasons, was acquired by Bengaluru Bulls for a record-breaking INR 1.125 crore. The Bulls will be without a strong leadership figure in their squad in PKL Season 12, which could pose a major threat in crunch match situations.

Despite these challenges, the new-look Bulls will aim to reclaim the PKL trophy under the guidance of two-time PKL title-winning head coach BC Ramesh. The team's ambition remains clear: to win the Pro Kabaddi title again in Season 12.
