New President of HAW Landshut Outlines Vision for Future Development
Prof. Michaela Wirtz, the newly appointed President of the University of Applied Sciences Landshut (HAW Landshut), has shared her vision for the university's future development with County Commissioner Peter Dreier.
Wirtz, who took office in March 2025, met Dreier for the first time since then in June 2025. During their meeting, Wirtz expressed her ambition to transform the HAW into a "science campus," a vision that does not compromise the university's core educational and teaching mission.
The County Commissioner, who is also the district administrator (Landrat) of Landshut, believes that HAW Landshut has tremendous potential. He expressed his support for Wirtz's vision, and both parties agreed to strengthen the university's ties with business and politics to achieve this goal.
Wirtz reiterated her commitment to further integrating the HAW Landshut into the political and economic structures of the Landshut region. The goal is to sustainably shape the educational and economic region of Landshut.
