Rehabilitated birds set free in the Temryuk district
Headline: Pochards and Cormorants Released Back into Their Natural Habitat After Successful Rehabilitation
In a heartwarming event, six birds – two cormorants, two young cormorants, and two pochards – were released back into their natural habitat in the stanitsa of Zaporozhskaya, Temryuksky District. The release was a culmination of months of rehabilitation efforts, spearheaded by the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory and overseen by Dr. Pavel Fridman, a veterinarian at the rehabilitation center.
The pochards, like their avian counterparts, had been weakened due to changes in their environment. They had been residents at various rehabilitation centers before arriving for their final stage of rehabilitation. Fortunately, they were not affected by oil product pollution, unlike some of the cormorants.
Two of the cormorants were severely emaciated several months ago, but they, too, were helped to recover. The emaciation of the two cormorants was not related to oil product pollution. The pochards, similarly, were not affected by such pollution.
Dr. Fridman oversaw the release of both the cormorants and the pochards. He confirmed that the pochards were fully ready for release, as were the cormorants. The birds were now ready for independent life, having been nurtured back to health at the rehabilitation center.
The veterinarian working at the bird rehabilitation center in Vityazevo is named Dr. Alexei Ivanov. He played a crucial role in the birds' recovery process, ensuring they were given the best possible care before being released.
This release marks a significant step forward in the conservation efforts for these species. It serves as a testament to the dedication and hard work of the rehabilitation centre staff and the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory. Here's to hoping these birds thrive in their natural habitats and continue to flourish.
