Relocated Details Regarding the Large Wormser Fishing Event

On Sunday, August 31, 2025, Worms will be hosting its annual Backfischfestzug, a vibrant parade that promises to bring a festive atmosphere to the city.

The parade will commence at Karlsplatz and make its way along Friedrich-Ebert-Straße, passing by Theater DAS WORMSER. From there, it will turn right at the roundabout, leading the procession onto Rathenaustraße. The route then proceeds through Lutherring and Adenauerring, before turning right into Von-Schoen-Straße and then into Siegfriedstraße.

The parade will be led by the traditional participants, including the flag swingers and the flag corps of the Nibelungenstadt Worms, the Fischerwääder, the flag twirlers, Fahnencorps of the Nibelungenstadt Worms, Fischerwälder Verein with the Bojemääschter and his Backfischbraut. Following them will be representatives of individual communities, private individuals, Wormser clubs, and musical groups, as well as marching bands.

Residents of the streets along the parade route, including Andreasstraße, passing by Dom St. Peter, Neumarktstraße, and Stephansgasse, should expect temporary parking and stopping restrictions. The parade route will be closed to regular traffic from 13:00 to 18:00, with affected bus lines being rerouted. Street closures will be clearly posted.

The parade will end in "Fischerwääd", or Große Fischerweide street. For those unable to attend, the parade will be live on the Open Channel, starting at 13:15.

A total of 106 participants are listed for the parade, making it a grand spectacle not to be missed. It is worth noting that "Schwanen Apotheke" at Wilhelm-Leuschner-Str. 22 will have emergency service during the parade, with access from Renzstraße remaining unobstructed.
