New Role for Horst Becker: Political Representative at GTÜ

Horst Becker has taken on a new challenge, transitioning from the Association of German Insurers (GDV) to the Association for Technical Inspection (GTÜ). Starting on July 1, 2023, Becker will serve as the Political Representative of GTÜ, a role specifically created for him within the organization.

This new position is not a restructuring or replacement of an existing one. Instead, it marks a fresh creation within GTÜ, reflecting the organisation's growing importance in the political arena.

Unlike his previous role at GDV, GTÜ is not an insurance association. Instead, it is an inspection organisation, focusing on ensuring safety and quality in various industries. Becker's role will involve representing the political interests of GTÜ, particularly in Berlin and Brussels, where the organisation is headquartered.

Interestingly, Becker's new role at GTÜ is not his first experience in political representation. Prior to joining GTÜ, he held a similar position at GDV, where he served as a Political Representative.

Reporting directly to Frederik Schmidt, CEO of GTÜ Gesellschaft für technische Überwachung mbH in Stuttgart, Germany, Becker will work closely with the leadership to advance the organisation's interests and goals. While the exact date when Schmidt assumed his function as CEO is not specified, his leadership is expected to provide a strong foundation for Becker's work.
