Yakutsk City Road and Transport Service has announced a ban on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and light aircraft during the VIII International Sports Games "Children of Asia", scheduled to take place in Yakutsk from June 25 to July 7, 2024.

The ban, enforced by Yakutia.INFO, applies to the cities of Yakutsk and its suburbs. It includes all types of light aircraft moving without special permits and flight plans, as well as drones. The ban does not specify any exceptions or exemptions, and no specific social media platforms are exempt either.

During the ban period, measures will be taken to eliminate all unidentified aircraft detected. Violators will be held responsible in accordance with the current legislation of the Russian Federation. However, the ban does not provide information on any penalties for violating the ban.

The ban is intended to ensure anti-terrorist security during the conduct of all sports and mass events. Unfortunately, there is no information available on any alternative methods for aerial surveillance or transportation during the event.

As of now, there is no clear information available about the organiser of the VIII International Children's Asian Games in Yakutsk or details on the drone and light aircraft flight ban associated with the event.
