In an unexpected turn of events, a hedge fire broke out in Hannoversche Straße, Detmold, at 8:50 PM on Saturday.

Vigilant residents quickly sprang into action, managing to contain the flames with water before the fire department arrived. This swift response helped to prevent the fire from spreading further.

Upon arrival, the Detmold Fire Department and Mitte fire station assessed the situation. They used a thermal imaging camera to inspect the affected hedge and nearby trash cans, as initial reports suggested the fire could potentially spread to an adjacent building.

As a precaution, an overheated trash can was cooled down. The operation was concluded after approximately 30 minutes, and fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.

Quick action can help during a fire, but it's essential to remember never to risk personal safety. Always call emergency number 112 first.
