Resistance groups are actively working against the polls, seeking to disrupt communal peace, according to Salahuddin's statements.
In the heart of Bangladesh's capital, a significant meeting was held at the Dhakeshwari National Temple, with BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed at the helm. The gathering, preceding the upcoming Durga Puja festival, was attended by leaders of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad and Mahanagar Sarbojanin Puja Committee.
Ahmed, in his remarks, expressed concern over alleged conspiracies aimed at disrupting communal harmony and obstructing the upcoming national election. He emphasised the deep connection between these conspiracies and the democratic question of Bangladesh.
The BNP leader underscored the importance of Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community, which is set to commence on September 28 and conclude on October 2. The immersion of the idols of Goddess Durga will take place on October 2.
Ahmed made it clear that BNP has always stood beside the Hindu community in celebrating their religious festival and will continue to do so this year. He also highlighted BNP's commitment to ensuring the peaceful conduct of Durga Puja, with BNP leaders and activists, alongside the government, guarding Puja mandaps, as they did last year.
The BNP leader urged the government to take proper steps and play its role in ensuring the smooth celebration of Durga Puja. He emphasised that any attempt to disrupt communal harmony will be resisted with a strong hand.
It is important to note that no current public information is available identifying a specific person or group in Bangladesh who recently announced a conspiracy against religious harmony to obstruct the next national elections.
Despite these concerns, the spirit of Durga Puja will be celebrated across Bangladesh with religious fervour and festivity, at temples and makeshift mandaps alike. The people of Bangladesh, guided by leaders like Salahuddin Ahmed, will strive to maintain the peace and harmony that is integral to their nation's identity.
