Restaurant property situated on Mount Vernon Avenue up for rent
In a surprising turn of events, the popular restaurant The Garden, situated at 1503-1505 Mount Vernon Ave., is being marketed for lease starting September 1. The commercial real estate brokerage PVIM LLC, led by principal broker Apostle Paul Voutsas, is responsible for marketing the property.
Spanning over a 10,706-square-foot lot with 100 feet of street frontage, the property boasts three parking spaces and 1,100 square feet of interior space. The property is zoned CL (Commercial Low), which typically allows for retail and restaurant uses in Alexandria.
For those unfamiliar, The Garden positions itself as "the place to gather and relax with friends, family, and four-legged friends." It offers "delicious food, 16 drafts, refreshing wine, and handcrafted cocktails." The restaurant's website and social media accounts do not indicate any upcoming changes or closure plans, leaving the reason for the lease uncertain.
However, a note in the listing advises potential visitors not to disturb the current tenant, suggesting that The Garden will continue to operate until the lease is officially transferred. ALXnow has reached out to the owners of the property for comment, but no response has been received as of yet.
The name of the trust that owns the property at 1503-1505 Mount Vernon Ave. remains undisclosed. It is known, though, that the property is currently housing The Garden restaurant, which was established in 2018.
PVoutsas confirmed that his firm has been instructed to list the property for lease by the trust that owns the property. The asking rent for the property is not specified in the marketing materials.
As the community waits for more information, The Garden continues to serve as a beloved gathering spot for locals. Whether the property will continue to house the restaurant or be leased to a new tenant remains to be seen. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
