Nissan X-Trail Nismo Makes its Debut in Japan
The Nissan X-Trail Nismo, a new addition to the SUV lineup, has been unveiled in Japan. The X-Trail Nismo is equipped with the standard e-Power hybrid setup, featuring a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine and dual electric motors, producing a combined power output of 157kW and 525Nm.
The X-Trail Nismo is priced at approximately NZ$62,700 in Japan, with a range from ¥5,416,400 to ¥5,962,000. The vehicle will be offered in Japan, as well as select markets including Australia and the Middle East.
The X-Trail Nismo boasts an aggressive exterior design, featuring a bolder body kit, including a front splitter, side skirts, and a diffuser. A new Stealth Gray paint option with a contrasting black roof is available, adding to the SUV's sporty appearance.
The cabin of the X-Trail Nismo receives Nismo treatment, though specific details about these changes are not provided. The SUV comes with 20-inch Enkei alloys wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires, enhancing its performance capabilities.
The e-4orce AWD system in the X-Trail Nismo has been retuned for sharper torque distribution and a stronger rear bias, promising improved handling and dynamics. The Sport mode in the control module offers a snappier response, further enhancing the driving experience.
The X-Trail Nismo's exterior design changes help reduce lift by nearly 30%, enhancing stability. The vehicle also features Kayaba Swing Valve shocks for improved dynamics. For added comfort, optional Recaro seats are available, adding ¥489,500 ($5600) to the price.
The X-Trail Nismo is a five-seater, as the seven-seat option is not available. Whether Nissan will export the X-Trail Nismo remains unanswered. The X-Trail Nismo's debut was in Japan in September, and it will officially launch in Japan on 24 September. For now, the X-Trail Nismo is a JDM-only affair.
The X-Trail Nismo's exterior design features an F1-style brake light and Nismo's trademark red flourishes, adding to its sporty appearance. The X-Trail Nismo is set to make a bold statement in the SUV market, offering a unique blend of performance and style.
