Revealed: Bentley's daring revamp includes a fresh logo, updated design, and focus on electric technology for the future
Bentley Unveils Revolutionary EXP 15 and Redesigned Logo
Bentley Motors has made a bold move in the automotive industry, unveiling its all-electric concept car, the EXP 15, alongside a radically reimagined winged "B" logo. The unveiling took place at the company's redesigned design studio in Crewe, England, which is at the heart of Bentley's strategy to blend tradition with sustainability.
The new design studio, led by the team responsible for the EXP 15 concept, is a key component in Bentley's bold pivot towards electrification. The studio houses approximately 50 designers and includes facilities for painting and electric vehicle assembly.
The EXP 15, stretching over five metres in length, is a futuristic vehicle, rooted in tomorrow's technology. It features an asymmetrical door layout with three seats, including a driver's seat, a swivelling and adjustable front passenger chair, and a rear bench. The right-hand side of the vehicle features a pair of rear-hinged and forward-opening doors, while the left side has only one.
The vehicle's design is considered the biggest design revolution in Bentley's history, according to CEO Frank-Steffen Walliser. It boasts a grand tourer body with a retro influence from the 1930s, including a long bonnet, rearward cabin, and a bold upright grille. The EXP 15's dashboard showcases Bentley's new "Magical Fusion" interface, blending digital displays with real wood surfaces.
The new design language in Bentley's vehicles signals a move towards the future, with a focus on falcon wings. The redesigned Bentley logo, inspired by the peregrine falcon, features sharper lines and more dynamic wings. The "B" is placed front and centre, resembling a gemstone with facets and a metal frame.
The design studio in Crewe is part of a larger initiative to rebuild rather than demolish buildings. Bentley's design evolution is a significant shift, reshaping the brand's identity. The company's commitment to sustainability is evident in the studio's aim to fuse tradition with sustainability.
The new design studio and the EXP 15 are part of Bentley's broader strategy to reposition itself in the luxury electric vehicle market. The company's focus on innovation, tradition, and sustainability is sure to make it a force to be reckoned with in the years to come.
