Seeking a Fresh Train Service Provider in Brandenburg's Northern Region - Revised Train Service Provider Announced for North-west Brandenburg Region
The Berlin-Brandenburg Transport Association (VBB) has launched a competition to find a new railway operator for the North West Brandenburg network. The competition aims to find a company that will operate the network from 2028 onwards.
The tender covers the lines RE6, RB55, and RB73, which are currently part of the North West Brandenburg network. The lines run between Wittenberge and Berlin, Neuruppin and Hennigsdorf.
From 2028, more trains are expected to run on these routes. The RB73 line will be integrated into the network, running between Kyritz and Neustadt (Dosse).
The goal is to improve the Wittenberge - Neuruppin - Hennigsdorf - Berlin axis with the new operator. The aim of the new operator is to increase the frequency of trains on the network, providing better connectivity for passengers.
