Revised Transport Proposal for Bavarian Lower Main Region
The city of Aschaffenburg and the districts of Aschaffenburg and Miltenberg have jointly implemented a new public transportation plan for the Bavarian Untermain, a collaborative effort aimed at improving the region's public transportation services. This 157-page comprehensive document, created over a period of more than one and a half years, outlines the current state of public transportation in the Bavarian Untermain and sets goals and measures for the coming years.
The new public transportation plan, led by AMINA - Aschaffenburg Miltenberg Public Transportation GmbH, involves developing bus stop infrastructure, revising existing route bundles, and introducing on-demand transportation. It also aims to increase the use of alternative bus drives in the region.
Citizens were given the opportunity to participate in an online participation process for the development of the new public transportation plan. The PTV Transport Consult office, a consulting firm specialising in transport planning, was responsible for creating the plan, working under the leadership of the joint task management company involving the city and counties of Aschaffenburg and Miltenberg.
Key areas addressed in the new public transportation plan include improving service offerings, developing bus stop infrastructure, introducing on-demand transportation, revising existing route bundles, and aiming to increase the use of alternative bus drives in the Bavarian Untermain.
