Riga Film Festival announces preliminary short-film screenings
The SHORT RIGA Test Screenings, supported by the National Film Centre of Latvia and BBPosthouse, is set to host an exciting line-up of emerging talents and experienced professionals from the Baltics and Portugal. Curator Lenka Tyrpakova has selected 12 works-in-progress for the event, which includes 9 fiction films, 1 animation, 1 documentary, and 1 hybrid project.
From Portugal, "Maria Henriqueta Was Here" by Nuno Ochôa Pimentel and "Flying Carpet" by Justin Amorim are among the participating projects. "Flying Carpet" is a self-produced project by Justin Amorim, while "Maria Henriqueta Was Here" is one of the projects from Portugal, participating in the event.
Estonia is also well-represented with projects such as "The Little Other" by Andres Tenusaar, produced by Kerdi Oengo (OÜ Nukufilm), and "Big Zeus" by Johannes Magnus Aule, produced by Madis Tüür and Kirill Volkov. Another Estonian project, "Room Number" by Silvia Lorenzi, produced by Inger Põder (Homeless Bob Production), is also part of the line-up.
Lithuania contributes with projects like "First Day" by Gintare Parulyte, produced by Greta Akcijonaite, "Glitter Kiss" by Auguste Gerikaitė, produced by Lineta Lasiauskaitė, and "The Secret" by Kęstutis Drazdauskas, produced by Justė Michailinaitė (Artbox).
The SHORT RIGA Test Screenings will also host two pitching sessions on 25 and 26 October. During these sessions, industry experts will provide professional feedback and notes to boost the chances for each film's successful festival run.
