Road incident in Flensburg leaves 29-year-old cyclist severely harmed
On August 25, 2025, a traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Ziegeleistraße/Swinemünder Straße in Flensburg, Germany. The incident involved a 29-year-old cyclist who sustained severe but non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the police, a 47-year-old driver was traveling in a car on Swinemünder Straße. After several cars had passed the junction, the 47-year-old turned left into Ziegeleistraße. At the time, the cyclist was traveling in the direction of Kielseng. The collision between the car and the racing bike resulted in the cyclist's injuries to the pelvis and thigh area.
Emergency services and a doctor attended to the cyclist at the scene before they were taken to the hospital for further treatment. The driver's actions are currently under investigation.
An expert was called in by the Flensburg Public Prosecutor's Office for the police accident investigation. Traffic in the direction of Flensburg had to be temporarily closed for the accident investigation.
The investigation is ongoing, and no new information about the cyclist's condition has been provided. Both the car and the racing bike were towed away for further examination.
