Road Intersection of Herkenberger Straße, Bahnhofstraße, and Walzstraße in Duisburg-Mittelmeiderich Completely Shut Down
In the heart of Duisburg-Mittelmeiderich, construction works are set to commence at the intersection of Herkenberger Street, Bahnhof Street, and Walz Street on September 1st. The project, spearheaded by Duisburger Verkehrsgesellschaft, aims to improve the infrastructure in the area.
During the construction period, several changes to the traffic flow will be implemented. From Bronkhorst Street up to house number 58A on Bahnhof Street will remain accessible in both directions, but will be marked as a dead end. This section will still allow for pedestrians and cyclists to pass through unimpeded.
The intersection of Herkenberger Street, Bahnhof Street, and Walz Street will be completely closed throughout the duration of the construction. As a result, Walz Street from the direction of Emmericher Street and Herkenberger Street from the direction of Sing Street will also be marked as dead ends. A detour has been signposted for vehicular traffic to navigate around the construction area.
Access to Herkenberger Street remains possible, but the supermarket (Lidl) located on this street will be closed due to the construction works. Pedestrians and cyclists can still pass through the construction area unimpeded.
The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of September. No new information about access to other streets was provided in the current announcement. It is recommended to keep an eye on updates for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
