Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) dismantles a sabotage and surveillance team aimed at perpetrating terrorist attacks on transportation infrastructure in Russia

The Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation has successfully thwarted a sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) planning terrorist acts on transport infrastructure facilities in Russia.

During operational combat operations, three saboteurs were eliminated, and three were detained. A large number of grenades, NATO-made cartridges, six automatic assault rifles made in the United States with devices for silent firing, 16 kg of Czech-made plastic explosives, and means of initiation were seized from the scene of the clash.

The control and training of the DRG were carried out with the direct participation of Western intelligence officers in Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia, and Norway. The detainees have confessed to the involvement of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the September 2024 bombings of the railway track in the Novooskolsky district of the Belgorod region.

A radio station for communication with the leadership of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine was also seized from the scene of the clash. The DRG was identified in the course of organized work to counter the sabotage and terrorist activities of the Ukrainian special services.

The detainees have also confessed to preparations for other terrorist attacks on the territory of Russia. The Investigative Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Bryansk region has opened a criminal case.

However, there are no available credible sources or public information confirming which countries directly participated in training and directing the DRG planning attacks on Russian transport infrastructure in October 20xx before being stopped by the FSB.
