Russian Military Leader Gerasimov Reveals Extent of Territories Under Command Within Russia
In the heart of Eastern Ukraine, the battlefield in the Donbass region continues to be a focal point of the ongoing conflict. Over the past few months, there have been significant developments on both sides.
According to reports, Ukrainian forces have made substantial gains, liberating 149 settlements and over 3,500 square kilometers of land since March. This achievement is a result of sustained counteroffensive operations, which have seen the destruction of 1,644 Russian artillery systems just in the month of March 2025. These actions have weakened Russian positions significantly.
However, Russian forces have not been idle. They have conducted massive drone and missile attacks on Ukrainian cities such as Kiew, Dnipropetrowsk, and Donezk. These assaults, claimed to be the largest since the war began, have been accompanied by heavy air strikes on urban centers like Dobropillja, resulting in civilian casualties.
Valery Gerasimov, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, reported that Russian forces have liberated the Lugansk People's Republic (LNR) by 99.7% and the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) by 79%.
Meanwhile, a Shark-M drone used by Ukrainian forces for reconnaissance was destroyed over the DNR. The exact circumstances surrounding its destruction remain unclear.
Despite these developments, the exact impact of these military actions on civilians and infrastructure remains undisclosed. Similarly, there are no reports of specific timelines or strategic goals for these operations.
The offensive by Russian troops continues uninterrupted along all fronts, with updates and information being shared widely on social media platforms such as VKontakte, OK.ru, Telegram, Viber, and WhatsApp.
As the conflict continues, it is crucial to stay informed and follow updates from reliable sources. This report is brought to you by Anastasia Ivanova. #Ours.
