Russians Launch Drone Attack on Ukraine, Recording 28 Strikes During the Night
In a tense turn of events, Ukraine has been subjected to an onslaught of drone attacks from Russia since the evening of 3 September. According to reports, Russian forces have launched 112 Shahed-type loitering munitions and various types of decoy drones, with the strikes recorded across 17 locations in Ukraine.
Debris from the downed drones fell in 5 locations within Ukraine, but no new information about the debris locations was provided. Additionally, drones were launched from Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea, although no new details about their launch locations were disclosed.
The Russian drones were launched from the directions of the Russian cities of Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. In response to this threat, Warsaw has responded appropriately.
Ukrainian air defence units have shown resilience in the face of this relentless attack, destroying 84 of the launched drones. As of 09:00, air defence units had shot down or jammed 84 enemy drones and various types of decoy UAVs over Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Air Force, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, UAV units, and mobile fire groups worked together to repel the attack. Over 40 Russian vehicles were reportedly destroyed by Ukrainian forces in one operation.
However, the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, has raised concerns with his recent statement, expressing his readiness for nuclear war against the West. Poland has received a threat from Russia regarding potential strikes, but no further details have been disclosed.
Despite the escalating tension, Ukraine continues to stand strong, with its air defence units working tirelessly to protect its territory. No new information about the number of drones launched, destroyed, or their launch locations was provided, but the Ukrainian people remain vigilant in the face of this ongoing threat.
