SAI360 Acquires Hintbox to Amplify American Whistleblower Infrastructure

In a move that addresses the global increase in whistleblower legislation, SAI360, a leading risk and compliance software company, has acquired Lawcode GmbH, creators of Hintbox. The acquisition aims to modernize the U.S. hotline case management and reporting landscape.

SAI360, a US-based RegTech firm, will bring Lawcode's modern compliance software and no-code rapid deployment approach to the U.S. market. Edouard Didier, Managing Director at STG, which owns SAI360, is involved in the acquisition.

U.S. regulators like the SEC and DOJ are heightening expectations for accessible, anonymous reporting systems in sectors such as finance, healthcare, and technology. Hintbox, a next-generation whistleblower hotline and case management platform, offers rapid deployment, multi-language support, anonymous two-way communication, and AI-enhanced workflows, making it an ideal fit for this need.

Peter Granat, CEO of SAI360, is emphasizing the focus on security and compliance within the Hintbox platform. Hintbox operates within a GDPR-compliant and ISO 27001-certified security framework, ensuring the highest levels of data privacy and protection.

Lawcode GmbH will continue to operate independently in Europe under the Hintbox and Lawcode brands. Ubbo Aßmus, cofounder and CEO of Lawcode GmbH, views the acquisition as an opportunity for long-term growth for both SAI360 and Lawcode. The acquisition is expected to provide added value to Hintbox's successful expansion across the EU.

Hintbox is widely trusted in the DACH region and was developed to meet stringent EU whistleblower laws, including the EU Whistleblower Directive and Germany's HinSchG. The acquisition addresses the global increase in whistleblower legislation and focuses on bringing a European standard of data privacy and protection to the U.S. market.
