Samsung Lions Establish New KBO Attendance High in Historic Match

The Samsung Lions are making history in the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) this season. With the regular season scheduled to end on September 30, 2025, the Lions have already broken the South Korean baseball single-season attendance record.

Currently leading the KBO, the Lions have had an impressive 10,000-strong crowd at their home games. After defeating the Kiwoom Heroes, the Lions' home attendance reached an astounding 1,401,262, surpassing the previous record of 1,397,499 set by the LG Twins in 2024.

The game between the Lions and the Heroes was a sellout, with 24,000 passionate fans filling the Daegu Samsung Lions Park. This marks the second-most sellouts in the KBO this year, with the Hanwha Eagles leading the way with 55 sellouts.

The Lions' remarkable feat is not the only attendance milestone this season. The Giants and the Twins are also closing in on the 1.4 million attendance mark, with the Giants attending 1,380,572 games and the Twins attending 1,379,236 games so far.

The Lions' success is not just limited to their crowd-pulling ability. They are currently in fourth place with a record of 64-61-2, only one game ahead of fifth-place KT Wiz and 1 1/2 games better than sixth-ranked Lotte Giants.
