Samsung's Innovation Campus to Swell by Six Times, Preparing 20,000 Indian Students for Cutting-Edge Tech Fields by 2025

Samsung, a global tech giant, has announced an ambitious expansion of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC), in India. The program, which was launched in 2022, aims to democratize access to future-tech skills and create employment opportunities for students, particularly those from underserved communities.

In the coming year, the program will be extended to ten states across India, including Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Maharashtra. This expansion represents a significant increase from the four states currently benefiting from the program.

The Samsung Innovation Campus initiative is designed to upskill 20,000 students in future-tech skills such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and Coding & Programming in 2025. This is a substantial increase from the 3,500 students who received training in the previous year. Since its launch in India, the program has successfully trained 6,500 students in future technologies.

Samsung's CEO, JB Park, expressed the company's commitment to expanding access to skilling and employment opportunities. He stated, "We are committed to empowering the youth of India with the skills necessary to thrive in a technology-driven future. Our goal is to bridge the skills gap and provide equal opportunities for students from all backgrounds."

The program will be implemented in partnership with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) and the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC). Through these partnerships, Samsung aims to train 20,000 students in emerging technologies, with 10,000 students each in Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu receiving training in future technologies.

In addition to technical skills, the program will also provide instruction in soft skills to enhance workplace readiness. Eligible candidates will receive placement assistance in relevant industries, ensuring they have the opportunity to apply their new skills in the real world.

The Samsung Innovation Campus program aligns with the Government of India's vision of Digital India and Skill India, aiming to improve access to education and prepare India's next generation to thrive in a technology-driven future.

Furthermore, Samsung's skilling program is not limited to India. This year, the program will be expanded to include Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom. The program reflects Samsung's shared vision with the Government of India of harnessing technology to unlock opportunities for the youth.

In conclusion, Samsung's expansion of the Samsung Innovation Campus program is a significant step towards bridging the skills gap and providing equal opportunities for students from all backgrounds. The program is designed to empower the youth of India with the skills necessary to thrive in a technology-driven future, contributing to the country's digital transformation.
