Saudi Wood Expo seeks to establish an eco-friendly woodworking sector

Saudi Wood Expo Kicks Off at Riyadh International Convention Centre

The second edition of the Saudi Wood Expo has officially opened its doors at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Over 10,000 visitors are expected to attend the three-day event, which showcases an array of wood products, machinery, and finishing solutions.

The expo, one of 39 events organised by dmg events this year, aims to elevate the Kingdom's wood and woodworking sectors. Matt Denton, President of dmg events, expressed his excitement about this time for the Saudi exhibition industry. He stated, "It's an exciting time for the Saudi exhibition industry as we continue to support Saudi Arabia's ambitions for sustainable and future-ready development."

Several renowned companies from around the world are participating in the expo. Imos, a software developer offering advanced solutions for customized furniture production, is present at the expo. Freud, one of the world's largest manufacturers of circular saw blades, is exhibiting from Italy. Germany's Ilim Nordic Timber, a leading producer of high-quality softwood lumber, is also participating.

Al Tajweed and Amaleed are showcasing their long-standing expertise in wood design and finished products at the expo. Faris Omar Al-Jaafari, MD of Amaleed, expressed optimism about the networking opportunities and potential contracts at the expo. He stated, "We are looking forward to meeting potential clients and discussing potential collaborations."

The UAE's DesertBoard is debuting their flagship, Palm Strand Board, a sustainable material engineered from agricultural palm waste, at the expo. This aligns with Saudi Arabia's drive to meet surging demand while advancing the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The expo also offers a timely place for suppliers to meet serious buyers and source products for upcoming projects in Saudi Arabia. Rubner, a timber engineering specialist, will showcase the latest innovations from Italy. CAD+T from Austria will showcase integrated woodworking solutions that combine 3D design, automated production data, and flexible ERP tools.

Fian Group, Iconic Trees - ColdWater Veneer, and Al Sharq Al Masiya are demonstrating the Kingdom's growing capabilities in supplying specialized materials and woodworking technologies. The German company Hawa Sliding Solutions presented a software-based solution for the manufacture of customized furniture at the expo.

Muhammed Kazi, Senior Vice President of dmg events, stated that the expo supports Saudi Arabia's ambitions for sustainable and future-ready development. He emphasized, "The Saudi Wood Expo is a key event in our calendar, and we are committed to its success in driving the growth and development of the wood and woodworking sectors in Saudi Arabia."

Poland's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Robert Rostek, attended the opening ceremony and expressed his belief that the next edition of the expo will have more Polish companies. A talk titled "Building a Greener Future" will be hosted on Tuesday, focusing on the transformation of construction and design through the use of sustainable materials and smart sourcing.

The Saudi Wood Expo is more than just a trade event; it is a platform for collaboration, innovation, and the future of the wood and woodworking industries in Saudi Arabia.
