Savoring truffles at the Waldstraßenfest in Karlsruhe, a festival blending music, food, and design

The 30th Waldstraße Festival, a much-anticipated event in Ettlingen, officially began on Friday evening. The pedestrian zone, adorned with a pink carpet for the guests, stretches approximately 200 meters and is home to 25 food stalls and live acts that are drawing in the crowds.

Siegfried and Ilona Enu were among those who came for the tantalising taste of Portuguese cuisine at Tasca do Jose. On Saturday, a classical breakfast with a picnic is available from 10 AM, offering an elegant start to the day.

For those with a love for music, Comedy-pop with Antje Schumacher and the ukulele, and more live music on the street, will be performed from 1 PM. DJs Mr. Bocxx and Djane Simone are responsible for the sound of the festivities, ensuring a lively and entertaining atmosphere.

Architecture tours with visits to the inner courtyards are scheduled for Saturday at 1 PM and 3 PM, providing an opportunity to explore the historical charm of the area. At the Elwert Gallery, a Neo-Pop-Art artist, whose name is yet to be revealed, will be a guest on Saturday, showcasing their works.

Burger furniture store hosts an Egon Eiermann exhibition, adding a touch of design and history to the festival. The business "Bagno e Vino" offers high-quality bathroom design and wine sales, catering to those seeking a touch of luxury.

The Mayor of Ettlingen, Yvette Melchien, praised the street, stating it has a special radiance for the city center. Birgit Deck, chairperson of the IG Southern Waldstraße, expressed her satisfaction, stating that the street thrives on the interplay of committed traders, artists, and restaurateurs.

The documentary film festival "dokka" is currently trying to be saved by an association with an address on Waldstraße. The association is organizing a fundraising action called "save dokka", aiming to secure the future of this cultural event.

Serkan Sari, in charge of finances at the IG Southern Waldstraße, expressed satisfaction with the response on Friday evening. Shopping and indulging continue until 10 PM on Saturday, ensuring a full day of entertainment and enjoyment for all.
