School communities enhance their facilities for a fresh start in the upcoming academic year, showcasing dedication and improvement.
Schools across Vietnam are gearing up for the new academic year, with a focus on creating safe and well-equipped campuses. In Đông Nai Province, schools are busy cleaning classrooms, trimming trees, and improving infrastructure, such as the new toilets, secure perimeter wall, and proper front gate at Phước Thiện Primary and Secondary School.
Meanwhile, in Laang Son Province, education authorities have been busy organising over 250 training sessions for nearly 13,000 school heads and teachers. These sessions focused on integrating digital learning materials, information technology, and modern teaching techniques into classrooms. Thirty-four courses were held, with almost 2,000 core teachers participating.
The provincial department in Laang Son has also accelerated digital transformation, linking information across administrative levels via digital platforms. Digital platforms such as VnEdu, SMAS, and the national education database are now widely used in Laang Son. Preparations for new textbooks were completed before the end of the last academic year, and all schools in Laang Son Province have now distributed books to pupils.
In remote and disadvantaged areas, schools are also receiving attention. In Thiện Hưng Commune, Đông Nai Province, the new school year is set to begin this Friday, and Phước Thiện Primary and Secondary School is preparing to welcome over 870 pupils this year.
In Huế City, authorities are focusing on boosting school attendance among ethnic minority children and those in border regions. The city's Department of Education and Training is working to ensure every child has the necessary textbooks and supplies.
Hồng Thủy Primary and Secondary School, serving mostly Pa Cô children from low-income families, has ensured pupils have lunch as a priority. Teachers at the school often pool money to prepare meals for pupils who arrive without food. Many pupils at Hồng Thủy trek through steep, landslide-prone terrain to reach school.
In the newly formed Vũ Lễ Commune, created from the merger of three former communes, there are nine schools serving more than 2,500 pupils. Local authorities in Đông Nai Province have worked closely with schools to improve infrastructure, ensuring that all schools are well-equipped for the new academic year.
Despite the challenges, Vietnam's education authorities are committed to providing quality education for all students. The training sessions and improvements across the country demonstrate a continued focus on modernising teaching methods and improving infrastructure, particularly in remote and disadvantaged areas.
