Scooter operator absconded after traffic collision
In the quiet town of Hürth, Germany, on Sunday evening, a disturbing incident occurred. A 44-year-old pedestrian was hit by an E-scooter rider and the perpetrator fled the scene.
The victim was crossing the street with relatives at the intersection of Krankenhausstraße and Kochstraße when the collision occurred. The E-scooter rider, described as a 25-year-old blond man with a long blond beard, was coming from Bachstraße towards "In den Höhnen" street.
The fleeing E-scooter rider was wearing a beige pants and a beige hoodie, and was riding a black E-scooter while carrying a black backpack. After the collision, the rider had a brief conversation with the victim without exchanging personal details and then left the scene.
The police arrived at the scene promptly, securing evidence and filing an accident report. The traffic commissioners have initiated investigations into the incident. The presumed E-Scooter driver who lightly injured the pedestrian has not been publicly identified as of yet.
