Scorching summer nights, accompanied by a melodious symphony of sounds, and a canvas filled with twinkling stars.
Get ready for an exciting musical extravaganza as the Detmold Summer Stage returns to the Market Square from July 31st to August 2nd, 2025. This year's event promises live music, urban vibes, and a festival atmosphere, courtesy of the city portal's cultural team.
The lineup is a delightful blend of various genres, including Afro-Brazilian rhythms, singer-songwriter vibes, danceable electro beats, laid-back jazz, and powerful brass sounds.
On Thursday, July 31st, at 6:30 PM, the KNUD Trio, a German band known for their intelligent lyrics, driving grooves, and a style that blends jam sessions and spoken word, breaking boundaries, will take the stage. Following them at 8:30 PM is M. Byrd, a German artist whose music is inspired by American road movie soundtracks and indie greats like The War on Drugs or Phoebe Bridgers.
Friday, August 1st, will see two outstanding performances. At 6:30 PM, Gallowstreet, an eight-piece brass band from Amsterdam, will elevate brass arrangements, beats, and stage energy to a new level. Their sound is a powerful fusion of classical American brass band influences, urban grooves, hip-hop attitude, funk vibes, disco shine, and driving house rhythms.
The main event of the evening, at 10:00 PM, will feature Da Cruz, a Swiss-Portuguese artist who has made a name for himself by fusing Bossa Nova, Afrobeat, and electronic club aesthetics. Da Cruz's music sometimes is light and playful, sometimes heavy and uncompromising. The band's music blends warm, soulful vocals with driving breakbeats, hypnotic loops, and a dense, often dark atmosphere, moving beyond folkloristic clichés and bringing a new form of urban world music to the stage.
However, we currently have no information about the musicians performing on Friday, August 1, 2025, at the Detmold Summer Stage.
But the night isn't over yet! Mina Richman, a German-Iranian artist, will round off the event with a performance at 8:30 PM. Mina Richman's debut EP "Jaywalker" earned her a nomination for Best Newcomer at the PopNRW Award in 2022. Her music, inspired by indie greats, promises to be a fitting conclusion to this diverse and exciting musical journey.
Lastly, let's not forget Hans im Glück, a German band that combines hip-hop with jazz, funk, and urban lyricism. Unfortunately, their performance date and time are yet to be announced.
Admission to all these performances is free, making the Detmold Summer Stage an event not to be missed! So mark your calendars and get ready for an unforgettable musical experience!
