The Chinese automaker BYD has officially revealed images of its latest offering, the Song L SUV. Scheduled for unveiling at the Chengdu Auto Show in China at the end of August, this mid-sized SUV is poised to make a significant impact in the market.

The Song L SUV adopts the Dynasty series' latest Dragon Face design language, giving it a sharp front face with a closed grille, trapezoidal cooling vents, and the Song (宋) character positioned at the center. The vehicle also features a spoiler on the roof, high-mounted brake lights, and a through-type taillight group. The "BYD" letter logo is prominently displayed at the center of the SUV's rear.

The Song L SUV is based on BYD's e-platform 3.0 and is positioned as a mid-sized SUV. It will be equipped with BYD's DiSus intelligent body control system and intelligent electric four-wheel drive system, promising a smooth and efficient driving experience.

However, details about the interior and powertrain of the Song L SUV have yet to be disclosed. What is known is that the SUV will be powered by the same cell-to-body (CTB) battery technology as the Denza N7, ensuring a long range and fast charging capabilities.

The Song L SUV is not currently associated with any specific top speed record. While BYD has claimed a top speed of 472.41 km/h for the Song L SUV, this record is yet to be verified as a global EV speed record. The top speed record of the Song L SUV remains unverified.

Once launched, the Song L SUV is expected to start at around 200,000 yuan (27,600 USD). The SUV measures 4840mm in length, 1950mm in width, 1560mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2930mm. Compared to the Tesla Model Y, the Song L SUV is 90mm longer, 29mm wider, 64mm shorter, and 40mm longer in wheelbase.

The Song L SUV is developed by BYD Auto's in-house design and research centers, which focus on long-term independent development and innovation rather than licensing or copying other manufacturers. This commitment to originality and innovation is evident in the unique design of the Song L SUV.

Stay tuned for more details about the Song L SUV as they are announced. The official unveiling at the Chengdu Auto Show is eagerly anticipated by automotive enthusiasts worldwide.
