Season 2 Details for Karen Pirie: Release Date, Key Actors, Storyline, Teaser, and Everything Revealed So Far
On Sunday, July 20, at 8.00 pm, the much-anticipated second season of Karen Pirie will premiere on ITV1. This series, based on Val McDermid's novel "A Darker Domain," promises a captivating storyline, plot twists, and a strong cast.
The series follows Karen Pirie, a Scottish investigator, in her new role as a Detective Inspector. She is tasked with reinvestigating the 1984 kidnapping of heiress Catriona Grant and her baby son. The season is set to consist of three parts.
Lauren Lyle, known for her roles in Outlander and Vigil, stars as Karen Pirie. The 1984 scenes feature a talented ensemble cast, including Thoren Ferguson and Helena Katamba as the investigators, Mark Rowley as Mick, Kat Ronney as Bonnie, Conor Berry as Andy, and Stuart Campbell as Kevin.
James Cosmo and Frances Tomelty play Catriona's parents, Sir Broderick Grant and Mary. Julia Brown portrays Catriona Grant in the 1984 scenes, while John Michie plays Fergus Sinclair, the father of Catriona's son Adam. The young roles of Brodie, Mary, and Fergus are played by Jamie Michie, Madeleine Worrall, and Jack Stewart, respectively.
Saskia Ashdown joins the cast as newcomer DC Isla Stark in the present day. The series also stars Chris Jenks, Zach Wyatt, Steve John Shepherd, Emer Kenny, Rakhee Thakrar, and many more. Emer Kenny has adapted the book for the series.
A man's body with links to the 1984 kidnapping of Catriona and Adam Grant has been discovered, adding a new layer of intrigue to the story. The series is also set to be available on ITVX.
For those in the US, the season will be available on BritBox in October, although the exact date is yet to be announced.
