Seat's models, the Ibiza and Arona, are poised for significant renovation in 2026.

Seat, the Spanish automobile manufacturer, has announced a significant update for its popular models, the Ibiza and Arona, set to launch in early 2026.

The update comes as part of ongoing investment in the Seat brand, aiming to keep these models competitive in the affordable small car segment. According to Markus Haupt, the head of Seat, the update is a necessary step for car makers to continue selling affordable new cars in the mass market.

The Ibiza will be updated ahead of EU7 emissions regulations, and will feature mild-hybrid petrol engines. Both the Ibiza and Arona are expected to receive a makeover, albeit a minor one, to keep their styling fresh.

The update is a significant investment for smaller and less profitable cars, but Seat is committed to specializing in such models through the 2030s. This investment is also expected to benefit the Cupra sibling brand, as both the Seat Ateca and Seat Leon are also offered as Cupra models.

The Ateca and Leon are the other models in Seat's range after the demise of the Tarraco. Sales of the Ibiza and Arona both increased in the UK in 2024, contributing to an overall growth in Seat's sales that year.

Having the flexibility to address various markets is important due to different regulations. Seat is considered the perfect complement to the Cupra sibling brand, as it addresses different markets and customers. While Markus Haupt declined to comment on specific details concerning the update, he did confirm the launch of the updated Ibiza and Arona for early 2026.

The major update for the 2026 Seat Ibiza and Arona will be conducted by Seat itself, with new hybrid engines and refreshed designs. The Seat Arona was not explicitly mentioned to be updated in this paragraph, but given the update to the Ibiza, it is likely that the Arona will also be updated.

The new Ibiza and Arona will join the Seat lineup next year, continuing to provide affordable and stylish options for consumers in the small car segment.
