Second installment of the darkly humorous thriller series, Dept. Q, unveiled by Netflix

In a thrilling turn of events, streaming giant Netflix has commissioned a second series of the acclaimed crime drama Dept Q. The series, based on the best-selling Danish novels by Jussi Adler-Olsen, has captivated audiences worldwide with its gripping storylines and darkly humorous one-liners.

The lead character, DCI Carl Morck, is played by Matthew Goode, who expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to continue investigating Department Q's mysteries in a second series. Goode, who referred to the cast and crew as "wonderful," will be joined by his team once again, consisting of Alexej Manvelov, Leah Byrne, and Jamie Sives.

The first season of Dept Q followed Carl as he opened Department Q, a new branch of the police department, to investigate the disappearance of a prosecutor called Merritt Lingard. The investigation delved into a world much darker than Morck could have ever imagined, setting the tone for the series' gritty and suspenseful narrative.

Scott Frank, who served as the head writer for the first season, will continue in his role for the second season. Frank, along with Mona Qureshi and Manda Levin from Netflix, are excited to return for another round of Dept Q. Qureshi and Levin look forward to seeing what Morck and his team uncover in season 2.

The second season of Dept Q will be set in Edinburgh, Scotland, and will delve into another unsolvable cold case. The series will once again be produced by Netflix, promising high-quality production values and engaging storytelling.

Fans of the series can rejoice, as all episodes of Dept Q season 1 are currently available on Netflix. The first season spent 6 weeks in the Global Top Ten on Netflix earlier this year, demonstrating its popularity among viewers.

With the renewal of Dept Q for a second season, audiences can look forward to more intriguing mysteries, suspenseful investigations, and the witty humour that has made the series a standout in the crime drama genre. Stay tuned for more updates on Dept Q season 2!
