Youth Hour Returns: Shaping Duisburg's Future with Mayor Sören Link

Are you a young resident of Duisburg aged between 14 and 17 years old? If so, you have a unique opportunity to collaborate with Mayor Sören Link on the future development of your city. The Youth Hour, an informal chat session between young people and the Mayor, is returning for a second time, and registrations are now open.

Originally launched in the spring, the Youth Hour is a continuation of the informal chat session between young people and the Mayor, aimed at including the perspectives of young people in the development of Duisburg. The purpose of the Youth Hour is to give young people a direct voice and to offer an open exchange with Mayor Sören Link.

The Youth Hour is scheduled for Tuesday, September 23, from 3 to 5 pm, and will take place in Duisburg. During the session, participants can ask questions and share ideas about the future of Duisburg. The most important ideas from young people in Duisburg for the city's future development include creating inclusive and diverse spaces such as modern schools designed as living spaces with open learning and sustainable architecture, strengthening bicycle-friendly infrastructure, and establishing vibrant community centers for education, culture, and social interaction. These ideas emphasise sustainability, participation, and social inclusion in urban planning.
