Secret Wine, Unrevealed

Vinyl Wine, a charming wine shop and tasting room located between 99th and 100th streets in East Harlem, is quickly becoming a favourite among locals and wine enthusiasts alike.

The brainchild of co-owners Mike Faircloth and Matt Conley, Vinyl Wine offers a unique blend of jazz, viticulture, and casual wine appreciation. Mike, with a background in jazz and a keen interest in organic growing practices and small winemakers, brings a refreshing approach to wine tasting.

At Vinyl Wine, customers can expect a wide variety of wines hailing from diverse locations, such as the Finger Lakes and France. The selection changes frequently, ensuring that regulars and newcomers alike have an abundance of new wines to try.

The shop's atmosphere during tastings is party-like, attracting curious onlookers and transforming into a lively gathering of friends and regulars. A giant speaker acts as a bar, adding an unexpected twist to the tasting experience.

The wines on offer are organic and natural, produced by small, relatively unknown producers. The shop's vinyl inventory is particularly impressive, offering a perfect pairing for the wine selection.

Customers line up to try glasses of various wines, such as Monastrell and Mayolet, accompanied by humorous tasting notes and tips. The shop's logo, a neon-blue circular design, is a nod to its unique identity.

Mike and Matt are known for their approachable and casual vibe, discussing wine in a non-douchey way that makes everyone feel welcome. Craig Nelson, an East Harlem resident, praises Vinyl Wine as a welcome addition to the neighbourhood.

In addition to in-store tastings, Vinyl Wine offers delivery services to customers and to a nearby BYOB Senegalese restaurant. The shop's wine prices are affordable, with most bottles costing between $10 and $20.

Whether you're a wine connoisseur or a casual drinker, Vinyl Wine is more than just a place to buy wine and leave. It's a place where customers can hang out, enjoy good wine, and immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of this unique East Harlem establishment.
