Seized P754-M Methamphetamine Hydrochloride (Shabu) consignment at Clark

In a significant drug interception operation, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized a shipment containing over P75 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) in the Clark Freeport Zone, Mabalacat, Pampanga, on Saturday, August 30, 2025.

The shipment, which originated from Mexico, was consigned to an address in Cainta, Rizal. The intercepted parcel was declared as an industrial water chiller, disguising the true nature of its contents.

The illegal drugs were discovered during a joint operation by PDEA and other law enforcement and border control agencies. Two suspects from Cebu and Tarlac were arrested in connection with the case.

The value of the seized drugs was over P75 million, making it one of the largest drug seizures in recent years. PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani Nerez commended the collaboration between agencies, stating that the operation underscores the united front against international drug trafficking.

Nerez emphasized that the drug interception highlights the government's unyielding commitment to cut the supply of illegal drugs at the country's ports of entry. He also stressed that they will remain vigilant in safeguarding ports and borders to protect Filipino communities from the threat of illegal drugs.

However, the name of the customs or border officer involved in the drug seizure has not been publicly disclosed.

Nerez further stated that the success of the interdiction operation underscores the government's continued efforts to combat drug trafficking and ensure the safety and security of the nation. The arrested suspects are currently facing charges for violation of Sections 4, 11, and 20, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
