Semi-truck manufacturer Leapmotor achieves unprecedented sales figure of 57,066 vehicles in August, unveiling its latest model Lafa 5 on September 8.

Leapmotor, the Chinese electric vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, has once again proven its robust sales growth with a record-breaking 57,066 deliveries in August. This marks the company's fourth consecutive month of record-breaking performance and surpasses the 50,000-unit threshold for the second time.

The new personalized strategy model, the Lafa 5, is one of the new vehicles being introduced by Leapmotor. An image shared by the company indicates the Lafa 5 will be a compact hatchback. The Lafa 5, also known as B05, is the first model mentioned by Leapmotor in relation to the Munich auto show on September 8, where it will debut.

Leapmotor's financial report released last month revealed the company's net income figures, marking its first positive half-year net income of RMB 30 million ($4.21 million). The company is the second Chinese NEV maker, after Li Auto, to achieve half-year profitability. However, the financial report did not provide further details about its net income.

From January to August, Leapmotor delivered 328,859 vehicles, representing a year-on-year increase of 136.43 percent. As of the end of August, Leapmotor's cumulative deliveries since inception reached 928,407 units.

In addition to the Lafa 5, Leapmotor will also launch the B10 compact SUV in Europe on Sept 8. The B10, based on Leapmotor's LEAP 3.5 modular platform, will be presented at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich.

Leapmotor's August deliveries represented an 88.31 percent year-on-year increase and a 13.84 percent rise from July. The company's robust sales growth over the past year has led to significant improvements in its financial position.

The Lafa 5, with its clear design concept, driving dynamics, software, and quality, is the result of Leapmotor's own design and development efforts. The company is responsible for every aspect of the new model's creation.

Leapmotor's success in August follows a trend of continuous growth for the company. With the launch of the Lafa 5 and the B10, Leapmotor is poised to continue its upward trajectory in the electric vehicle market.
