Seniorstudents at Marler High School choose their new advisory council

The city of Marl is gearing up for the elections to the Seniorenbeirat (Senior Citizens' Advisory Council) on October 1, 2025. A total of 39 candidates are competing for 22 seats in this important council.
For eligible voters who have not received their mail-in ballots by September 14, 2025, the Office for Citizen Services is available for assistance. The office can be contacted during regular business hours at (02365) 99-2455. Completed voting materials must be received by the Office for Citizen Services of the city administration (Stadthaus II, Bergstr. 228-230) by 12:00 PM on October 1.
The Senior Council, established in 1979, was created to provide older residents with greater opportunities for participation and involvement in public matters. The term of the council corresponds to the term of the city council, which is 5 years. Currently, the council consists of 21 members.
Approximately 28,000 Marl residents who have reached the age of 60 by October 1 and have their primary residence in Marl at least 16 days before the election are eligible to vote. The election will be conducted exclusively by mail, and voting materials are being sent out by the election official.
