September's City Library Offering
The Dormagen City Library has an exciting lineup of events scheduled for September. From author readings to crafting meetups, there's something for everyone.
Kick-starting the month is the Story and Literature Café on September 3rd, featuring author Reinhold Peter. The event takes place from 3 to 4:30 pm, and participation costs just one euro. Donation-based coffee and tea will be available.
On September 5th, the City Library will host a reading titled "First Aid for Democracy-Defenders" with author Michael Lüders. No registration is required, and admission is free.
The City Library's events in September are not limited to these two. They will also host a variety of events at Marktplatz 1, as previously announced.
For those with a creative streak, the crafting meetup on September 17th from 3 to 5 pm is not to be missed. This event is free and open to all, without registration.
The Summer Reading Club, a staple of the City Library's summer vacation program since 2006, will not be left out of the September fun. Reading pass actions for children aged four and above will take place on September 2nd, 12th, 16th, and 30th. Participation is free and does not require registration. Children can collect a stamp for each visited reading action and choose a surprise from the treasure chest with six stamps.
The month will culminate with the Summer Reading Club's closing party on September 19th from 4:30 to 6 pm at Café micado.
In 2025, the Summer Reading Club will return under the motto: "Be there". The project is currently funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia until 2023.
The Dormagen City Library, in collaboration with the Dormagen 55plus Network, will host a Literature Meetup for book lovers on September 24th from 10:00 to 11:30 AM. The featured book's title will be published on the City Library's homepage.
