Severe road collision in Dresden leaves two people injured

On August 21, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred at Stuttgarter Straße, Kaitz, between 07:21 AM and 09:00 AM. Two cars of the type VW were involved in the collision, resulting in injuries to both drivers.

The 55-year-old driver of the overturned car sustained slight injuries, while the 42-year-old driver of the second vehicle suffered severe injuries. Emergency responders initially cared for the injured drivers on the sidewalk. Schoolchildren on a bus were initially affected by the accident and were partly cared for by fire department personnel.

A total of 36 personnel from the fire and rescue stations Albertstadt and Altstadt, the B-service, and the local fire department Kaitz were involved in the operation. Hazardous materials were leaked during the operation at the accident site, causing traffic disruptions and affecting public transportation.

The police have begun investigating the cause of the accident, and the schoolchildren were later safely escorted to their destination.
