Severe road mishap on L239 highway resulted in three individuals sustaining injuries, as per FW Mettmann's report.
On Thursday, April 30, 2025, a significant traffic accident occurred on the Ratinger Landstraße (L239) in Mettmann.
According to reports from the Fire Department Mettmann, transmitted via news aktuell, the incident involved two passenger cars in a head-on collision. Three individuals were involved, but thankfully, none were trapped.
Upon arrival at the scene, the fire department initially assisted the emergency medical service personnel in caring for the patients. The injured persons were then transported to nearby specialized hospitals by ambulance or rescue helicopter after being treated at the scene.
The emergency medical service call sign was adjusted to "Notarzt-Einsatz_3". This resulted in the additional deployment of a ground-based emergency doctor and the rescue helicopter "Christoph 3" from Cologne to the scene.
The Fire Department Mettmann increased the number of required ambulances to three, ensuring prompt and adequate medical attention for those involved in the accident.
The fire department's measures at the traffic accident scene were completed after approximately one and a half hours. Later, the fire department ensured fire protection at the scene and absorbed any spilled hazardous materials.
The south ring road between Düsseldorf Street and the entrance to Kant Street was completely closed for the duration of the operation, causing traffic delays.
The scene was handed over to the police for further investigation.

A total of eight fire department vehicles and four emergency service vehicles from Mettmann, Erkrath, Wülfrath, and the rescue helicopter "Christoph 3" from Cologne were involved in the operation.
