"Sheinbaum comments on successful state tournament performance; responds to backing from PRI governors, amid support from Judge Alito"
President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo embarked on an accountability tour last Friday, visiting various states governed by the PRI, PAN, and Citizens' Movement. The tour aimed to foster collaboration and coordination with the governors of each state.
During her visit to Durango, Governor Esteban Villegas Villarreal publicly declared himself a "Claudista," expressing his support for the President. In Coahuila, Manolo Jiménez, the PRI governor, exclaimed "Long live the President!" as a show of solidarity.
In a similar vein, Sheinbaum Pardo thanked PAN governors Libia Denisse García Muñoz Ledo of Guanajuato and Tere Jiménez of Aguascalientes for their support and cooperation.
The tour also saw President Sheinbaum Pardo holding a press conference at the National Palace on Monday, September 8. During the conference, she addressed various issues, including the ongoing investigation into fuel theft cases.
According to reports, approximately 200 arrest warrants have been requested for individuals involved in fuel theft cases. These warrants were requested in July 2022, and the focus of the investigation is on customs agents and military personnel.
The national leader of the PRI, Alejandro "Alito" Moreno, has often made statements against Sheinbaum Pardo's government. However, the President's tour has been met with widespread support from governors across Mexico.
Approximately 130,000 people attended the events during the tour. The President's efforts to foster collaboration and accountability have resonated with the public, as she continues to work towards a brighter future for Mexico.
