Shift in Timeline for Commencement of New Service Fees by CAC to October 1, 2025

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced a delay in the implementation of its revised service fees, originally scheduled for August 15, 2025. The new date for the fee changes is now set for October 1, 2025.

This decision comes as part of the CAC's continuous efforts to ensure the smooth operation of its upgraded Company Registration Portal (CRP). The organization has been working diligently to stabilize the new platform before introducing the revised charges.

The CAC appreciates the patience, understanding, and cooperation of its customers and other stakeholders during this critical phase of transformation. The commission has taken feedback from customers and stakeholders into consideration for the date shift, aiming to deliver "optimum value" and ensure a smooth transition.

The stabilization process for the new registration platform is expected to be completed before mid-September 2025. The CAC's priority remains on optimizing the performance of the new platform before introducing the revised charges.

The fee adjustments are essential to maintain the pace of the CAC's ongoing digital transformation and to continue offering prompt, technology-driven services. The CAC cited rising operational costs and broader economic pressures as key reasons for the fee adjustments.

The CAC is committed to building an intelligent, customer-centric Registry that meets global standards. This commitment is reflected in the organization's ongoing efforts to improve service delivery, enhance efficiency, and adapt to current economic conditions.

The CAC's decision to delay the implementation of its revised service fees is not unique. Earlier this year, the United Nations World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) also postponed the implementation date of its revised service fees from September to October 1, 2025, to allow more time for member states to complete their internal procedures.

The revised service fees, when implemented, would be modest, competitive, and aligned with the CAC's strategy to strengthen the integrity of the Nigerian Corporate Registry and boost investor confidence. The CAC aims to build a more intelligent, customer-centric registry aligned with global best practices, providing a seamless and efficient registration process for all.
