Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray endorses Manoj Jarange's Maratha quota movement, urging Shiv Sainiks to assist protesters in Mumbai.
In the heart of Mumbai, thousands of Marathi brethren have gathered for the Maratha quota agitation. The agitation, which is a fight for the rights of the protesters in Mumbai, has been ongoing for some time now.
However, the protesters have been facing hardships, with the government failing to provide basic facilities such as water, food, and toilets. The protesters, undeterred by the rain, water, and mud, have been braving the elements to stand up for their just demands.
In a show of solidarity, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray has expressed his support for the ongoing agitation. In a statement made on August 30, 2025, Thackeray referred to the struggle as "our Maharashtra Dharma" and appealed to Shiv Sainiks to stand united and work tirelessly to provide the necessary assistance to the protesters in Mumbai.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut, in a message on social media, highlighted Thackeray's appeal. Raut called upon Shiv Sainiks, the members or activists of the Shiv Sena, a Marathi regionalist and Hindutva-based political party, to mobilize and support the protesters.
The Shiv Sainiks, known for their rough and tough street activism, have been called upon by Uddhav Thackeray to provide support, especially during the festive season in Mumbai.
The government, however, has not provided any assistance to the protesters, leaving the task of providing aid to the Maratha brethren and the Shiv Sainiks. The Maratha quota agitation, which is taking place in thousands of houses across Maharashtra, continues to be a significant issue in the city.
