Shop Theft: 46-year-old Individual Commits Robbery, Evades Security, Subsequently Arrested Successfully
On August 26, 2025, a theft occurred in a grocery store on Riebeckplatz in Halle (Saale). The incident involved a 46-year-old German national who is now facing a criminal charge of robbery.
According to the Federal Police, the suspect stole food items without paying for the goods. A store detective noticed the theft and pursued the suspect on foot towards Halle (Saale) Central Station.
During the pursuit, the suspect allegedly struck a security employee in the chest and pushed him away repeatedly. The Federal Police found the suspect and the helper in the area of the tram tracks and separated them.
The Federal Police Station in Halle was informed and responded to the scene. A search of the suspect's backpack revealed the stolen goods. The suspect was handed over to a state police patrol for further processing.
