Simple Blending of Design Patterns + Sharing Intimate Reflections on Reestablishing Direction

In the heart of summer, the author is making a conscious effort to refresh their wardrobe without adding to the pile of new clothes. Instead, they are embracing the art of remixing the clothes they already own.

This season, the author's accessory of choice is the bandana. Handmade in the USA by Moulton, and another by Madewell, these bandanas have become a staple in the author's summer look. Initially, the author styled the bandana in a simple manner to get accustomed to it, but now they feel comfortable wearing it with various outfits, particularly with patterned bandanas and striped shirts. The bandana not only adds a touch of style but also makes the author feel organized and cool.

The author's summer style series post includes the goal of experimenting with pattern mixing. Achieving a playful and pulled-together pattern mix can be done by mixing patterns within a monochromatic color scheme. The author's current favorite pattern mix is two different patterns, both in blue. The author aims to continue evolving the concept of pattern mixing, possibly even trying different patterns with different colours.

The author's wardrobe isn't just about fashion; it's about sustainability. Their jeans shorts are old but similar cuts can be found by Madewell. The author's shirt is also by Madewell, and a similar one in a different colour is available. The author's sandals were gifted by Sseko, a company known for making their products responsibly.

Completing the look is the author's bag, by Meyelo, a shop owned by their sis-in-law and known for making their products responsibly. The author is also making small adjustments in life, such as less TV and more conversations, less mindless snacking and more mindful snacking, less time sitting and more time walking or doing yoga.

In this summer of change, the author is not only revamping their wardrobe but also their lifestyle, making conscious choices that are both fashionable and sustainable.
