Single-source ticket sales for a casting event
In a significant move to streamline train ticket sales and enhance passenger experience, Transdev will assume responsibility for ticket sales in the train services of southern Baden-Württemberg from autumn 2025.
The new arrangement, part of the bwegt initiative, aims to improve local and regional transport and promote sustainable mobility. The initiative is a collaborative effort between the state of Baden-Württemberg and regional railway companies.
Ticket Guides, currently operational in Albstadt, Tübingen, and Reutlingen, are expected to be available in Ravensburg, Sigmaringen, and Friedrichshafen from early September. Transdev will allocate about two weeks for preparation, followed by DB Vertrieb's dismantling measures.
Passengers can purchase tickets online or through the DB Navigator app during this transition period. Stationary advisory and sales points will be closed for several weeks, but passengers can continue to use fare machines, digital sales channels, and DB Vertrieb's specially trained staff during the closure.
The primary goal of bwegt is to make public transport easier for passengers. The consolidated ticket sales will operate under the bwegt design, ensuring a uniform experience across all ticket machines and sales points.
Video Passenger Centers in Bad Saulgau, Bad Waldsee, Leutkirch, and Wangen will be dismantled in November. The Video Passenger Center in Nürtingen will close on September 19, 2025. The reopening dates for these centers have not yet been determined. The Video Passenger Center in Riedlingen will be replaced by the end of 2026, and a new one will open in Laupheim city by the end of 2027.
Ministerial Director Berthold Frieß expects all parties involved to work together for the passengers' interest. He emphasised that passengers will benefit from a better overview with the uniform bwegt fare machines and sales points.
For questions about the Germany Ticket and intermodal tickets, passengers can contact the local transport associations. They often have their own sales points and ticket apps. The DB's telephone service number (030 2970) will remain available for passengers.
bwegt works with regional railway companies and partners to continuously improve local and regional transport for passengers. The state-owned bwegt app allows passengers to book trips with a swipe using the digital CiCoBW system (Check-In-Check-Out Baden-Württemberg).
The sales agencies in Friedrichshafen-Hafen, Hechingen, Isny, Meckenbeuren, Mössingen, Rottenburg, and Stockach will continue to operate without interruption. The closed stations will gradually reopen from November.
The bwegt passenger centers, video passenger centers, and agencies will be managed by Transdev Vertrieb. Ministerial Director Frieß expressed optimism about the partnership, stating that it would contribute significantly to the initiative's goal of doubling the number of passengers in public transport by 2030.
