In the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has strongly condemned Israeli attacks in the occupied West Bank. This condemnation comes amidst reports of Israel's alleged campaign to displace the inhabitants of Gaza through military force and starvation.

The international community has taken notice of the situation, with a joint declaration issued by 26 Western countries and the EU Commission on Thursday. Foreign ministers from most EU countries, Australia, Canada, Iceland, Japan, Norway, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom signed the declaration, expressing their unequivocal rejection of the displacement of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The crisis in Gaza has resulted in a significant loss of life, with Palestinian health authorities reporting more than 62,000 deaths, mostly civilians, due to Israeli retaliation. The deaths are reportedly a result of Israeli retaliation for an October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas on settlements close to the border with the Gaza Strip, which killed 1,200 people, mostly civilians.

Amidst the ongoing violence, humanitarian aid continues to be a priority. On Wednesday, the 60th Saudi relief plane arrived at El Arish International Airport in Egypt, carrying humanitarian assistance for Palestinians in Gaza.

The crisis has also sparked calls for action from various activists, humanitarians, and experts, with many labelling Israel's actions in Gaza as a genocide.

Meanwhile, discussions about the post-war future of the territory have been ongoing. US President Donald Trump met advisers in the White House on Wednesday to discuss this very issue. Israel's Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, however, has suggested annexing parts of the Gaza Strip if Hamas refused to disarm, even going so far as to propose taking a section of territory each week for a month until the Strip was under complete Israeli control.

In a bid to halt the violence, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has agreed with Italy on the urgent need to end the war in Gaza. Israel's escalated bombardment of Gaza City on Thursday serves as a stark reminder of the urgency of this need.

In a separate development, a top Israeli official was present at a meeting with US President Donald Trump, though the details of this meeting remain unclear.

The situation in Gaza continues to be a source of international concern, with calls for action growing louder each day. The international community, including Saudi Arabia and Italy, remains steadfast in their rejection of the displacement of Palestinians in Gaza.
