Skoda's new model, Epiq, prepares for a competition against the Renault 4, set for next year, with a price tag of £25,000.

Skoda is set to join the electric vehicle revolution with the launch of their latest offering, the Epiq. Scheduled for release in 2026, this compact electric SUV promises to embody Skoda's commitment to modern design, spacious interiors, user-friendly digital interfaces, and affordable pricing.

The Epiq will be the smallest of Skoda's electric SUVs, slotting neatly under the Elroq and serving as the electric equivalent to the Fabia. It will share its platform, powertrain, and production line with the Volkswagen ID.2 model as part of the Electric Urban Car Family project.

CEO of Skoda, Klaus Zellmer, has stated that the Epiq embodies Skoda's modern solid design philosophy. This is evident in its distinctive new 'Tech Deck' face, T-shaped light signatures, and a distinctive new shade of 'Cashmere' paint. The cabin is visually separated from the rest of the car by an accentuated shoulder referred to as a 'tornado line'.

Under the hood, the standard Epiq will come equipped with a 208bhp motor on the front axle. A hot vRS version, twinned with the ID Polo GTI, is a possibility and could boast a power output of 223bhp.

The Epiq is designed to seat five comfortably and boasts a 475-litre boot. The lower bodywork of the Epiq is grey.

In terms of range, the Epiq is expected to offer a impressive 264 miles on a single charge. The touchscreen will be the main control interface, but physical buttons and haptic scrollers are also present.

The Epiq will make its debut at the Munich motor show, and it's expected to arrive in showrooms mostly unchanged from its second iteration. The mentioned price of the Epiq further underlines Skoda's commitment to meeting the growing demand for sustainable and accessible mobility solutions, as it is expected to be priced to match its petrol-powered counterpart, the Kamiq, which starts at £25k.

The interior of the Epiq features practical and everyday usable design with 'simply clever' features. The electric small SUV Škoda Epiq is yet another testament to Skoda's dedication to innovation and sustainability.

The Epiq is based on the MEB Entry architecture, also used in other small VW Group EVs, including the new ID Polo. Notably, the Enyaq is one of the cars designed according to Skoda's new Modern Solid design principles. The Epiq concept shares a platform, powertrain, and production line with the Volkswagen T-Cross and Cupra Raval.

The Epiq is set to be an exciting addition to Skoda's electric vehicle lineup, offering a combination of style, performance, and practicality at an affordable price. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the 2026 launch of the Škoda Epiq.
