In the world of cinema, the Spanish streaming platform Play has added a new gem to its collection - the critically acclaimed film, 'La Suerte Dormida'. This captivating drama, directed by the renowned screenwriter Angeles Gonzalez-Sinde, tells a compelling story of a lawyer named Amparo.

Amparo, once a lawyer who had stopped practicing and worked in an agency, finds her life shattered after losing her husband and son in a tragic traffic accident. The film marks the first lead role for Felix Gomez, who plays Agustin, a young mining student, and also stars as the film's lead actor.

'La Suerte Dormida' is not only Gomez's debut but also Adriana Ozores' fifth Goya nomination. Ozores portrays Amparo in a poignant performance, depicting a woman who flees from pain due to a traumatic loss. Her character takes on a new case, defending a compensation claim for the family of a man who died in a sepiolite mine.

The film's supporting cast includes a host of well-known actors such as Pilar Castro, Ana Wagener, Fernando Soto, Joaquin Climent, and Francesc Orella. Pepe Soriano plays Jose, the sixty-year-old father, while Carlos Kaniowsky and Fanny de Castro portray Floro and Rosa, the parents of the deceased.

The script for 'La Suerte Dormida' was co-written by Gonzalez-Sinde and writer Belen Gopegui. The film received excellent reception at the SEMINCI, the Valladolid film festival, and was nominated for two Goyas in the categories of Best New Director and Best Actress in a Leading Role.

Interestingly, Gonzalez-Sinde had Adriana Ozores in mind to play Amparo, her favourite actress. However, the deceased in the story was changed to the son of the horse stable owner that Amparo frequents. Despite the specific names of other actors in the film not being widely available, the film has been praised for its powerful performances and engaging narrative.
