The much-anticipated Smurfs movie is now playing in movie theaters worldwide, bringing the beloved blue creatures back to the big screen. This time around, the film is directed by Chris Miller, known for his work on Shrek the Third and Puss in Boots.

The movie's soundtrack is a musical treat, featuring Rihanna's hit song "Please Don't Stop the Music" and a cover of Belinda Carlisle's "Heaven is a Place on Earth." The soundtrack also includes a new single, "Higher Love," by Desi Trill, featuring DJ Khaled, Cardi B, Natania, and Subhi.

The storyline follows Smurfette as she leads the Smurfs on a mission into the real world to save Papa Smurf, who has been mysteriously taken by evil wizards. The movie's official synopsis reveals this thrilling adventure.

The main cast includes Rihanna as Smurfette, John Goodman as Papa Smurf, Rick Kavanian as Gargamel and Razamel (German voice), Patricia Meeden as Smurfette (German voice), and Uwe Ochsenknecht as Papa Smurf (German voice). In the English version, notable actors such as Octavia Spencer, Maya Erskine, Nick Kroll, Hannah Waddingham, Dan Levy, Nick Offerman, Amy Sedaris, Natasha Lyonne, Sandra Oh, Chris Miller, James Corden, Kurt Russell, and Billie Lourd lend their voices to the characters.

The movie's producers include Jay Brown, Ty Ty Smith, Robyn Rihanna Fenty, and Ryan Harris. The script was written by Pam Brady.

This isn't the first time the Smurfs have graced the silver screen, with previous films in 2011 and 2013. The 2017 adaptation of the Smurfs characters was titled Smurfs: The Lost Village.
